Balancing The Body Mind and Spirit

'Your body is your temple'. Our bodies our entrusted to our care; are we good caretakers? Aside from washing and clothing our bodies, one has a great deal to contend with as to caring for the body. It has to last us 80, 90 to 100 years! Physically, the best thing we can do for our bodies is to walk. For mental acuity, we can do crossword puzzles, read books, and perform various computer activities. Spiritually, we all need help. Simple, on the knees, morning prayers is an excellent start to any day.

The Physical Body
Do you try to tan your body? We are born with just the right shade of skin to go with our hair, eyes, and nails. Trying to make it darker or lighter is an extremely big undertaking. Not only are tanning beds risky, and sun tan lotions additives that we can do without, we cannot create another color scheme any more flattering.
Drinking enough water each day to moisturize our skin is extremely important. Getting some form of exercise, i.e. - walking, jogging, stretching, climbing, or using an exercise machine is essential to our bodies well being. Strong bones and muscles are strengthened by moderate daily exercise. The key word is moderate. Pushing oneself for the sake of becoming a winner can take its toll on our bodies. Make sure your goals in life are in balance with your bodies capabilities.
Taking a daily, multiple vitamin may just be a step in the right direction to balance our body's natural chemistry. Choosing one that is all natural, not made from chemicals is certainly a wise choice.

Mentality of the Mind
Ever notice when you eat an ice cream bar one day - the next day you want another? By not eating the first sugary treat, in the first place, you will not crave another one tomorrow. Let us site an example: you are diabetic and you spot some sugared doughnuts at the grocery store. Pass on the 'heart attack waiting to happen'; purchase some fruit instead. Do this once or twice and you will want the fruit, not the doughnuts.

Do you take your self too seriously?
Are you constantly trying to give orders to everyone? Alternatively, do you sit and sulk when you are not the center of attention? All of these 'mind games' are habits. A habit is a thought or action that we undertake on an hourly, daily, monthly and yearly basis. Habits make us who we are. We can change our eating and behavior habits. How can we do this? Just by breaking the thought pattern associated with an act and doing the opposite.
Do not take yourself so seriously. Many people do things differently than the way we do things, let them! Are you constantly vying for the attention of others? Try observing others and asking them to share their past and present activities with you - they may surprise you. Sulking, raging, or acting shy are also habits; try breaking these habits by smiling and inquiring how another is feeling. Oddly, by focusing on another person and not ourselves, we can change the way we react to situations, just by caring for others.

Strive for balance in your life.
Spirituality - Spirit Whispers Start each day with a positive thought, prayer and meditation is an excellent way to do this. After clearing your mind of the negative thoughts that your mind is trying to bombard you with, listen for whispers from your spirit. Your spirit and soul speak to you through others each day. Calming your spirit, each day will lay the groundwork for a more peaceful and satisfying life. Learn to listen to your inner thoughts and act on the impulses your spirit whispers to you.
