Dealing With Diabetes

Americans are living veraciously, edgy lifestyles.
Skyrocketing rates of obesity and diabetes reveal Americans obsessions on becoming self indulgent and lacking self-control.
Choices in diet and life style can take a toll on your health.
Here are some tips to keep your diabetes under control.

Supersize Me

Portion control is very important in our daily eating habits.
If we teach our bodies that we need to over eat at every meal, then we will gain more weight and added health issues that come with doing so.
Do not eat after 7:00 PM at night.
Try this rule of thumb, eat like a king for breakfast, a prince for lunch, and a pauper for dinner.

Carb Control

These foods are best for you and low in carbs:
Stone ground wheat, pumpernickel bread, oat meal, and bran cereals.
Eat white flour products, white rice, potatoes and desserts if you must, but remember they contribute to weight gain and diabetes.
Some people have turned to trying a natural Carb Blocker as an alternative to digesting a lot of carbohydrates.
This does not mean you can eat all the carbohydrates you wish, the supplement helps digest and break down the carbs that you do consume.

Sugar Control

Introduce yourself to Stevia.
Stevia is all natural, very sweet and will not raise your sugar levels.
Stevia is 70 to 80 percent sucrose, but the levels at amino acids and micro and macronutrients slow the absorption rate.
Stevia is found at all grocery and health food stores. It comes in liquid, packets and powder form.

Fiber Control

Fiber is necessary in any diet. It is a carbohydrate but it is mandatory for digestion and helps regulate blood glucose levels.
Fiber is found in whole grains as well as certain types of fruits and vegetables.
Fiber helps slow down the transit of sugars into the bloodstream.

Under Control

Read all food labels carefully before you purchase food. Nothing should be consumed with more than 8 grams of sugar per serving.
Needed sugar can be obtained from fresh fruits and vegetables.
Consult with a health care professional about your health, keep up with your diabetes, don't ignore it.
Getting enough sleep and exercise, eating a balanced diet, aromatherapy and massages will all help with diabetes and general all around good health.
